An information disclosure vulnerability was reported in IBM's OS/400 operating system for the AS/400 platform. A remote user with a valid account on the system can view a list of user account names on the system.
The AS/400 provided a solid foundation, but it has evolved over the years into the entirely new technology that we call IBM i. The 2020 chapter in our journey from AS/400 to IBM i includes new cloud offerings, new Technology Refreshes, new customers, and a strong roadmap.

NOTE: it is possible that this issue is related to CVE-2004-0230, but this is not certain. IBM AS/400 System Program V3R02M00 (5763-SS1) Tape 3 of the set is missing. Includes a tcopy block log for recreating a 1:1 tapes from these files, sha1sums are also included. History Predecessors. IBM had two distinct POWER- and PowerPC-based hardware lines since the early 1990s: Servers running processors based on the IBM PowerPC-AS architecture in the AS/400 family (later known as iSeries, then System i), running OS/400 (later known as i5/OS, and now IBM i) OS/400 was its operating system and the two were tied to each other. I read, back in the 1990s, that there was a special system program which if deleted would trigger the O/S to uninstall itself during the next IPL (boot).
